The smiles at Old Trafford said everything

The smiles at Old Trafford said everything

This Sunday, something quite incredible happened at Old Trafford.

Together with Mike Melvin and the 3v3 UK team, we saw one of football’s most iconic stadiums transformed into a huge 3v3 football festival, filled with AirPitches, BazookaGoals, nonstop games and an atmosphere that honestly felt different from traditional football events.

Players of all ages stepped onto the pitch throughout the day. Young kids walked through the tunnel for the first time in their lives, adults competed under the lights, parents celebrated goals from the stands, and coaches watched players fully express themselves in fast, free-flowing games. Everywhere you looked, there was movement, energy and emotion.

At the same time, the event brought people together. Parents connected around the pitches, coaches exchanged ideas throughout the day, and players from completely different age groups shared the same excitement for the game. It felt less like a standard competition and more like a football community coming together around a format that simply creates joy.

For us, this event felt like the beggining of a new era.

Seeing all these AirPitches and BazookaGoals spread across Old Trafford was another reminder that 3v3 is no longer a niche format. It is becoming a real movement inside football development. More organisations, clubs and coaches are understanding the value of small-sided football environments where players are constantly involved, making decisions every few seconds, touching the ball more and playing with freedom.

That is something we have believed in for many years at BazookaGoal and AirPitch. We have always tried to push football toward more active, dynamic and accessible formats, not only through products, but through events, tournaments and complete playing environments. Watching one of the world’s most famous stadiums fully embrace 3v3 felt like an important milestone in that journey.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible; the organisers, families, coaches, players and supporters who brought incredible energy from the first game until the final whistle.

We truly believe that events like this show where football is heading next. And honestly, seeing 3v3 take over Old Trafford was something special.
